Dirty Hands: Small-Batch Boilo, Crafted In Coal Country

For those outside of Pennsylvania, boilo is a traditional Yuletide drink that is handed out among friends and family. The idea for this branding and bottle design was inspired by the Coal Country miners of Schuylkill County, PA, who were the first known boilo makers. To give it a personalized quality, the label has a handwritten typeface, dirty handprints and a logo featuring a thumbprint smudge turned into a miner wearing a mining helmet. The outer wrap incorporates the same handprint and a small logo on a brown liquor bag template, fastened shut with a strand of knotted red hemp.
